Kneelength hose are worn with the kilt. For evening wear, we recommend off-white coloured hose, with either a plain rib or a cable stitch pattern. Diced or tartan pattern hose can also be worn, but they are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. Heavy Aran pattern hose are also available, and we have some customers who prefer this heavier styling. For day wear, coloured hose are poplar, toned to the colours in the kilt. Hose flashes support the hose, and provide a decorative element on the sock. Our kiltmaker will make tartan flashes from the remnants of your kilt fabric, otherwise self-coloured flashes are available in red, green, blue and black.
